MIL-A-23282B(Wep)
4.5.3.11 Megohmmeter capable of measuring insulation re-
sistance at 500 volts dc with sufficient scales to permit
readings in the middle third of the scale of 1 and 20 megohms,
with a 2 percent accuracy on all scales.
4.5.4 Test procedure
4.5.4.1 Insulation resistance.  Connect the megohmmeter
(4.5.3.11) between ground and all pins of P40, connected
together.  Measure insulation resistance in accordance with
NAVORD OD 12301.  The resistance shall be as specified in
3.3.1.
4.5.4.2 Actuator circuit resistance.
4.5.4.2.1 Following assembly of the complete actuator,
connect the positive lead of the multimeter (4.5.3.4) to
terminal 2 and the negative lead to terminal 1 of connector
P40 (BUWEPS Drawing 694739), and measure the aft coil
resistance, which shall be as specified in 3.3.2.1.
4.5.4.2.2 To verify presence of the diode, parallel with
aft coil, connect the positive lead of the multimeter to
terminal 1 and the negative lead to terminal 2 of connector
P40 (BUWEPS Drawing 694739).  Set resistance selector switch
to XI scale.  The meter shall indicate on the resistance
scale a value not greater than 20 or less than 10.
4.5.4.2.3 Following assembly of the complete actuator,
connect the positive lead of the multimeter to terminal 2
and the negative lead to terminal 3 of connector P40
(BUWEPS Drawing 694739), and measure the forward coil
resistance, which shall be as specified in 3.3.2.1.
4.5.4.2.4 To verify presence of the diode, parallel with
forward coil, connect the positive lead of the multimeter
to terminal 3 and the negative lead to terminal 2 of connec-
tor P40 (BUWEPS Drawing 694739).  Set resistance selector
switch to XI scale.  The meter shall indicate on the
resistance scale a value not greater than 20 or less than
10.
4.5.4.3 Binding
4.5.4.3.1 Input.  With the actuator in a horizontal
position (output arm down) and with the magnetic particle
