NOTE:  The Body Assemblies may be tested in standard shipping
(service item) package in lieu of rigid mounting in a fixture.
4.5.6 Performance tests of Body Assemblies.  After completion
of the transportation vibration, the sample Body Assemblies in the
test mine case assemblies or fixtures shall be divided in groups for
temperature conditioning required.  Each group shall be subjected to
only one temperature for a minimum period of 4 hours as specified in
3.3.2.  The Body Assemblies shall be taken from the conditioning
chamber and tested as follows:
Within five (5) minutes after being removed from the
conditioning chamber, the Body Assemblies shall be launched to
enable the S&A's, activate the battery cells and set the self
destruct feature at normal or extended (see 4.4.5, 4.4.6 and
4.4.7).  After launch, the test mine case assemblies containing
sample Body Assemblies shall be returned to the temperature
conditioning/functioning chamber (controlled area) as required.  The
Body Assemblies shall be placed with one half of each sample
oriented receiver coil up; the remaining sample, receiver coil
down.  After enable time has occurred, the test samples shall be
functioned in the three following modes: 1.  AD mode; 2.  Tripline
mode; 3.  Self destruct mode either normal or extended (Destructive
Tests).  Enable time is defined as the maximum Group C Electronic
Arm Time specified on Dwg. 9292960, plus five (5) minutes, minimum.
4.5.6.1 Antidisturbance (AD) Mode functioning.  Following
launch (see 4.5.6) and before micropiston actuator actuation, the
test samples shall be secured in a tilt fixture.  After enable time
has occurred, the test sample shall then be subjected to the
following:
a.  The item shall have its central axis tilted slowly
through 900 from the horizontal ; then slowly returned to
its original position.
b.  Failing functioning, (a) shall be repeated in the
opposite direction.
c.  If failure is obtained from (a) and (b), rocking or
jarring mine should be attempted.
d.
Allow one minute intervals between attempts.
e.  If no detonation is detected, attempt to function by
triplines (see 4.5.6.2).
f.  Failing (e), item shall be monitored until expiration of
extended SD.
