MILITARY SPECIFICATION
COMPRESSORS, RECIPROCATING, ELECTRIC
MOTOR DRIVEN, NAVAL SHIPBOARD DIESEL
ENGINE AIR STARTING SERVICE
1. SCOPE
1.1 Scope.- This specification covers class T motor driven air compressors, for Diesel engine
air starting installations aboard Naval ships.
1.2 Classification.- Diesel starting air compressors shall be of the following sizes as specified
(see 6. 1):
Size 10 - Not less than 10 cf. m, of free air per minute at 600 p. s. i. g. discharge pressure.
Size 50 - Not less than 50 c.f. m. of free air per minute at 600 p. S. i. g. discharge pressure.
2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS
