1. Seamless tubes for intercoolers shall be 90-10 copper-nickel. Pressure parts sub-
ject to pressures in excess of 500 p. s. i. g. , shall be of 70/30 copper-nickel or
nickel-copper alloy.
2. Air cooled cylinders may be of modular graphitic iron in accordance with Speci-
fication MIL-I-17166.
3.5 Electrical equipment.-
3.5.1  General.- All electrical equipment, for w hich specifications are not specifically set forth
herein, shall conform to Specification MI L- E- 917.  The degree of enclosure for electrical equipment
shall be watertight unless other enclosures are specifically specified herein.

3.5.2.1  The horsepower rating of each motor shall be in accordance with Navy standard motor
ratings, but not less than 1.05 times the brake horsepower of the driven compressor under rated con-
ditions of capacity and pressure.
