MIL-C-38418E(AS)
3.13.1 Electrical Power Variation - The control assembly shall operate
within specified performance limits from a category B power source as
defined in MIL-STD-704.
3.13.2 Phase Rotation - The phase rotation of the 400 Hz power required
by the control assembly shall be A-B-C with neutral as ground.
3.14
Electrical Connectors - Unless otherwise  specified,
electrical
connectors shall be in accordance with MIL-C-26500.
3.15
Test Pins - Adequate test pins shall be provided on each component
for external testing of the item.
3.16 Bonding - Adequate electrical bonding points shall be provided on
each component of the attitude gyroscope control assembly.
3.17
Cases -  The cases shall be in accordance with the specified
dimension shown  in figures 2, 3, 4,  and 5 and shall provide a
hermetically sealed enclosure when required for the internal mechanism.
The design of the case shall be such that the internal mechanism may be
removed from the case, replaced, and the case resealed without the use of
special  tools  and  fixtures.
The hermetic  sealing  shall be so
accomplished that the seal will not be dependent upon materials that will
be affected by the action of any atmosphere to which the control assembly
may be subjected and in such a manner that it will meet the tests
specified in section 4.
3.17.1 Hermetic Sealing - The following hermetic sealing requirements
shall apply except in those extreme cases where the filling medium or the
pressure, or both, materially affects the performance of the instrument.
Exceptions  shall be based upon sound engineering facts and shall be
presented to the procuring activity for approval.
Hermetic sealing is
defined in 6.3.1.
3.17.1.2 Filling Medium - The filling medium shall be a mixture of 98
percent helium and 2 percent nitrogen or 95 percent helium and 5 percent
carbon dioxide and shall contain a maximum of 0.006 milligram of water
vapor per litre (dewPoint 65C) at the filling pressure.
The absolute
pressure of the filling medium shall be 12 to 14.7 psi.
3.18
Soldering - Soldering shall be accomplished in accordance with
MIL-STD-454, requirement 5.
