MIL-C-52128C
3.8.2.1.2.2.1 Auxiliary main feeder outlet. An auxiliary receptacle permanently connected
to and mounted adjacent to the main feeder receptacle shall be provided. The auxiliary
connector shall be identical to the main feeder receptacle, except that it shall be of the female
type. The receptacle shall be identified as "Auxiliary Main Feeder Outlet" by an identification
plate.
3.8.2.1.3 Main feeder disconnect. The main feeder disconnect shall be a circuit breaker
conforming to NEMA ICS. The circuit breaker shall be a nonautomatic circuit interrupter with
shunt trip device. It shall be watertight, type IV, and dusttight, type V, in accordance with
NEMA ICS. The breaker shall be 3-pole, rated for 225 amperes, and actuated by an external
handle. The switch shall be labeled "OFF", "ON", and "RESET".
3.8.2.1.4 Safety cutouts. Two safety cutouts of the one-position, pushbutton, switch type,
normally open and rated at 30-ampere maximum interrupting current shall be provided. The
safety switch shall be watertight, Type IV, and dusttight, Type V, in accordance with
NEMA ICS. The switch shall be labeled "STOP". One switch shall be accessible from the
operator's platform, and a second switch shall be accessible from the ground level and adjacent to
the auxiliary branch circuit receptacles.
3.8.2.1.5 Distribution panel and branch circuit protective devices. The panel shall be
watertight, type IV, and dusttight, type V, in accordance with NEMA ICS. The panel shall be
3-phase, 4-wire, solid neutral, with 200-ampere main-lug capacity. Each branch circuit shall be
provided with a circuit breaker in accordance with NEMA ICS. Single-pole circuit breakers will
be acceptable if provided with handle tie bars for each individual polyphase circuit. Each starter
shall be considered a branch circuit, and individual circuit breakers shall be provided for all
starters.
3.8.2.1.6 Motor starters. Each motor on the crusher shall be provided with a motor starter.
The motor starters shall be in accordance with MIL-S-12514, type I, class 2, and shall be 3-pole,
alternating current, magnetic, nonreversing, across-the-line, and rated for 440-volt, 60-cycle
operation. The enclosures shall be watertight, type IV, and dust tight, type V, in accordance with
NEMA ICS and shall be provided with start-stop pushbuttons in the covers.
3.8.2.1.7 Internal wiring. Internal wiring shall be installed in conduit conforming to
WW-C-566 or WW-C-58l, as applicable. Conduit outlets shall conform to W-C-586. A ground
wire shall be carried as the fourth wire and shall be grounded to the crusher in such a manner as
to assure an electrical bond between all electrical apparatus and the crusher on which it is
mounted. Branch circuit conductors, including wiring internal to starters, breakers, and other
electrical wiring and devices which carry motor-running current, shall have a current-carrying
capacity of not less than 125 percent of the applicable motor-running current. Control
subcircuits not carrying motor-running current shall be wire not smaller than No. 14. Such
subcircuits shall include wiring internal to the control panel but not internal to starters, breakers,
