VMRS 13-001-026
Rotors of the high heat sink type incorporating
heavy-use, cooling feature design.
Rotors warp-resistant when overheating
occurs.
Provide weatherproof puck seals which
effectively seal between the puck and cast
housing against malfunctions caused by road
salt splash, dust, mud, water and snow and ice.
Provide caliper and roter components, that are
exposed to road splash, either inherently
corrosion-resistance or effectively cleaned,
treated, and plated.
VMRS 13-002
Rear Brakes & Drums.
Provide electric, hydraulic, or straight air
assemblies, as specified. Avoid components
located below the axle housing and inside,
between the backing plates; however, locate no
components below the bottom of the brake
roter or brake drum.
Provide components between the drum and the
backing plate or dust shields either cleaned,
treated, and painted or inherently corrosion
resistant.
Provide dust shield protection of drum type
foundation brake assemblies.
With straight air S-cam drum brakes, provide
the S-cam rotation and the brake drum forward
rotation in the same direction on all axles.

Lining - Rear Brakes.
Lining selected from the FMS Automotive
Data Book.
Lining rated per DOT procedures and
technically intended for severe, mountainous,
heavy-duty commercial service. Wet lining
fade not less than 65-percent of the dry friction
baseline valve, per SAE J786 test code.
