than the carrier length.  Not less than five each 90 degree right
and left turns per hour shall be made.  The crane shall travel not less
than 1 mile in reverse.  All lights shall be turned on and operated
throughout this demonstration.  The horn shall be operated not less
than 10 times.  The maximum travel speed shall be measured on firm
level ground or pavement. The crane shall be driven on a 10 percent'
side slope for not less than 100 feet.
4.2.1.1 Ditch.  The crane shall traverse a V-ditch course having a
pitch of 7 to 9 feet and an amplitude of 1 to 1-1/2 feet for a distance of
300 feet, both perpendicular to and diagonally across the trough of the
ditches.
4.2.2 Capacity load.  In order to establish adequacy of the rated
load chart, the crane shall lift, hold, swing (as defined in 3.2),
and lower a load equal to 117.6 percent of the load chart rating at a 12
foot radius, at 70 foot radius, and at two additional intermediate
radii. Tipping as defined by PCSA Standard No. 2 shall constitute
failure. .
4.2.3 Overall structural integrity.  The manufacturer shall submit
a copy of the test report performed in accordance with SAE J1063. If
test report is not available, the completed first article shall be
tested in accordance with SAE J1063. All resultant test data shall
be furnished with the first article report.
4.2.4 Hoisting.  Hoist and lower a load of not less than 58,000
pounds at a 12 foot radius to a height of 10 feet for 10 times.
Failure to have positive control shall be cause for rejection.
4.2.5 Rotation,  Without a load and the boom retracted, revolve the
superstructure 5 minutes clockwise and 5 minutes counterclockwise.
Determine the number of revolutions per minute.
4.2.6 Outriggers.  Without a hoist load, operate the outriggers
to determine conformance to 3.3.7.
4.2.7 Clamshell.  Install the Government-furnished clamshell and
tagline and perform clamshell operation for 4 hours.  Operation shall
include digging, hoisting, swinging, and unloading at various radii
up to 40 feet.
4.2.8 Pile-driving.  Install the Government-furnished pile-driving
leads on the boom-mounted adapter plates.  With the Government hammer,
drive two contractor-furnished 30 foot long piles their full length or to
refusal.  Operate the hammer on a pile driven to refusal for 4 hours.
