APPENDIX
TEST METHOD NO. 1
MAXIMUM LIFT HEIGHT - OPERATING RADII
1. TEST COURSE:
Level, flat surface.
2. TEST APPARATUS:
a.
Linear
measurement equipment.
b.
Loaded
40 ft. container (total weight 67,200 lbs).
c.
Loaded
20 ft. container (total weight 44,800 lbs.).
d.
Slings
and spreader bars for handling 40 and 20 ft. containers.
e.
15,000
load with sling.
3. TEST PROCEDURE:
a. Set the crane on its outriggers in a level position.
b. Lift the loaded 40 ft. container at a 22 ft. operating
radius to the maximum vertical height in accordance
with load rating chart. Measure and record the true
vertical distance from the ground to the bottom of the
hook.
c. Repeat with the loaded 20 ft. container at a 27 ft.
operating radius.
d. Repeat with the 15,000 pound load at a 35 ft. operating
radius using the auxiliary hook block and hoist system.
e. Place the load center of the loaded 20 ft container 16
feet forward from the vertical plane of the foremost
part of the front of the crane. With the crane on its
outriggers, verify the lift capacity of the crane by
hoisting the loaded 20 ft container.
