TEST METHOD NO. 32
SWING SPEED - SWING LOCK - SWING BRAKE ANTI-TWO BLOCKING
1. TEST APPARATUS:
Stopwatch.
2. TEST PROCEDURE:
a. With the crane on its outriggers and level with no load,
rotate the superstructure at governed engine speed with the
swing control in the full open position, 360 degrees in the
clockwise direction. Record the time.
b. Repeat step a 5 times.
c. Repeat steps a and b in the counter clockwise direction.
d. Engage the swing brake. With the engine at 2/3 governed speed,
engage the swing control, full open, for swing in both the
clockwise and counter clockwise direction. Record any rotation
movement.
e. With the boom straight forward, engage the swing lock. At 2/3
governed speed, engage the swing control, full open, for swing
in both the clockwise and counter clockwise direction. Record
any rotation movement.
f. Set the boom angle at 60 degrees and at maximum boom length.
With the hook block at ground level, hoist the hook block at
governed engine speed with the hoist control at full open.
Note if two-blocking occurs.
