5. PACKAGING
5.1 Vehicle processing. Full tracked cargo and passenger carriers shall be processed for
shipment in accordance with the manufacturer's standard commercial practice.
6. NOTES
6.1 Intended use. The carriers covered by this specification are intended for general
nontactical use in the transportation of passengers and cargo, and for towing of sleds and trailers
over a variety of terrains and environments. The terrains encountered include swampy and
frozen muskeg, hummocks, rocks, light and deep snows, narrow trenches, elopes, small tree and
brush areas, sand, mud, and vertical objects.

6.2 Ordering data. Acquisition documents should specify the following:
(a)
Title, number, and date of this specification.
(b)
Type of vehicle required (see 1.2).
(c)
Identification of appropriate service for painting and marking (see 3.1.1.1).
(d)
Rustproofing, if required (see 3.1.1.2).
(e)
If a battery heater is not required (see 3.4.1.1).
(f)
Roof-mounted, adjustable spotlight, if required (see 3.4.2.2).
(g)
Urethane filled tires, if required (see 3.4.6.1).
(h)
If a spare tire assembly is not required (see 3.4.6.2).
(i)
Mounted spare tire assembly, if required (see 3.4.6.2).
(j)
Additional cab heater, if required for type II and III vehicles (see 3.4.12).
(k)
Radiator shutters, if required (see 3.4.13).
(l)
Front-mounted winch, if required (see 3.4.17).
(m)
Rear-mounted winch, if required for type I vehicles (see 3.4.17).
(n)
Mounted gasoline can, if required (see 3.4.18).
(o)
Fire extinguisher, if required (see 3.4.20).
(p)
Fold-up, bench type seats, if required for type II vehicles (see 3.5.2.1).
(q)
Escape hatch, if required (see 3.5.4).
