5.6  Performance Oriented Packaging Testing and
Documentation.  The contractor shall conduct, at his expense,
Performance oriented Packaging Tests IAW the test procedures in
CFR 49.  Testing shall be conducted at a DOT certified test
facility using live ammunition.  Testing shall be conducted on
packs with ammunition linked with both M9 and M15A2 links. The
US Government shall be advised 45 days prior to scheduled testing
so what the Government may witness tests at the discretion of the
Government.  Test procedures and results shall be documented in a
test report and forwarded to the Government for review.  This
testing is in addition to the rough handling testing specified In
3.5.5.

6.1 Intended use.  The cartridges covered by this
specification are intended for use in Caliber .50, M2 Browning
Machine Gun with the M19 Blank Firing Attachment, weapon system
and the Caliber .50, M85 Machine Gun with the M20 Blank Firing
Attachment, weapon system.
6-2.  Acquisition requirements.
Acquisition documents must
specify the following:
Title, number, and date of this specification.
a.
Issue of DODISS to be cited in the solicitation, and if
b.
required, the specific issue of individual documents
referenced (see 2.1.2).
Requirements for submission of first article sample.
c.
d.
Applicable stock number.
Packaging requirements, if other than specified in
e.
Section 5.
f.
Certificate of conformance for each lot or shipment of
cartridges.
Type and level of packing for the cartridges.
g.
h.
Provisions for the submission of Inspection Equipment
Designs (DI-R-100540) (see 6.3).
Provisions for the submission of acceptance inspection
i.
reports containing the final inspection results for
each lot of ammunition presented to the Government (see
6.4).
