MILITARY SPECIFICATION
CABLE ASSEMBLY, MAGNETIC SWEEP MARK 17 MOP L
This specification has been approved by the Naval Air Systems
Command, Department of the Navy.
1. SCOPE
1.1 Scope. This specification covers electrodes, "S" and pigtail
type cable for magnetic minesweeping.
1.2 Classification. Magnetic minesweeping cables shall be classi-
fied as follows:
Type Electrode - Noninsulated, single conductor buoyant.
Type "S" - Insulated - single condutor, buoyant.
Type Pigtail - Insulated, single conductor, nonbuoyant.
1.2.1 Standard lengths, Magnetic minsweeping cables shall be fur-
nished in the standard lengths shown in table I as specified (see 6,1).

1.2.2 Assembly. The magnetic minesweeping cable assembly shall con-
sist of two .150-foot electrodes, one 450-foot "S" type cable, one pigtail
type cable, and two insulating sleeves.
2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS
2.1 The following documents, of the issue in effect on date of invi-
tation for bids or request for proposal, form a part of this specification
to the extent specified herein:
