3.5.5 Launch. Demonstrate that the system can be launched from the
launcher at the demonstration test conditions For air launched targets demon-
strate that any deviation of the target from its normal flight path, due to
the effect of the airflow of the launching airplane, will not result in colli-
sion-with the launching aircraft or cause malfunction of the target and is
within the capture limitations of the target system.
Ordnance.  All explosive items, inert-loaded, live or properly simu-

lated, as designated by NAVAIR, shall be installed Their safety features and
proper operation shall be demonstrated.
Instrumentation.  The reliability. maintainability, and functional

requirements of instrumentation, including that required tO assess intercept
distance (miss distance), shall be demonstrated.
3.5.8 Flight plan.  The free flight targets or missiles shall be tested as
specified by NAVAIR within the limitations specified in the applicable con-
tract detail specification. flight plan variables required for safety or
other specialized requirements of the test facility will be selected by the
test facility and supplied to the contractor.

Blast. Demonstrate or determine that the blast wave and jet stream
from booster engine will have no adverse effects on adjacent structure or
on the launching aircraft, or cause instability to the launching aircraft or
constitute a hazard to personnel.

system to attain a warmed-up ready ta launch condition after the ready switch
has been turned on. This demonstration may be conducbed on the ground.
Accuracy.  Demonstrate the target or missile ability to fly prede-

termined flight profiles from the maximum weight to the fuel depletion weight
and conformance to the contract detail specification.
Strength.  Structural adequacy shall be demonstrated for the criti-

cal design operating conditions by the performance of maneuvers in accordance
with the flight plan (see 3.6.2) and the contract detail specification.
Transfer control (targets).  The transfer of command control from

one transmitter to another on the same frequency to demonstrate surface to
air and air to surface transfer shall be in accordance with the contract
detail specification.
3.5.14  Speed.  The attainment and maintaining of speeds specified in the
applicable contract detail specification shall be demonstrated.

Endurance.  Compliance with the endurance requirements of the
applicable contract detail-specification shall be demonstrated.
3.5.16 Range.  Remote command control for all aspect positions of the mis-
sile or target out to the range limits specified in the applicable contract.
