5.2 Packing
5.2.1 Level A.  The boxes shall (from 5.1.1) be packed in
accordance with dwg. 8830880 or 9277239, when applicable.
5.3 Marking.
The boxes shall be marked as specified on dwgs.
8830881 and 8830880, or 9277239 and 9277238, when applicable.

6.1  Intended use.  The components covered by this specification
are intended for use on the Flare M49A1.

6.4 Drawings.
cation under the heading US Army Armament Research and Development
Command (ARRADCOM) may also include drawings prepared by, and iden-
tified as Edgewood Arsenal, Frankford Arsenal, Rock Island Arsenal
or Picatinny Arsenal drawings.  Technical data originally prepared
by these activities is now under the cognizance of ARRADCOM.
6.5 Cost of check test.  The Contracting Officer should arrange
for the contractor to be reimbursed for the expense incurred in the
performance of the check tests.  The tests shall be conducted at
Government expense without cost to the contractor who loaded the
primers or to the contractor assembling the primers in the flares
and shall not constitute a basis for rejection against either
contractor except where deterioration has occurred as a direct
result of carelessness in handling, storage , etc. permitted while
the primer lots were under the jurisdiction of either contractor.
6.6  Safe transport - The flare assembly shall be considered
safe to transport provided no evidence exists of totally or
partially disengaed safety clips, loose powder or composition in the
box, or missing, loose, or protruding primers.
6.7 Flare assembly - The flare assembly will be considered free
of damage that will affect the intended functioning provided the
cover seal has not been broken by movement, or the trigger has not
been broken off or disengaged from the bracket.
