2.2  Order of precedence.
In the event of a conflict
between the text of this document and the references cited
herein, the text of this document takes precedence.  Nothing in
this document, however, supersedes applicable laws and

3.
REQUIREMENTS
3.1 Materials.  Materials shall be in accordance with
applicable drawings and specifications.
3.2 First article inspection.  This specification provides
for a first article inspection.  Requirements for the submission
of the first article sample by the contractor shall be as
specified in the contract.
3.2.1  Process specification plastic parts.  When a multiple
cavity mold is used in the fabrication of plastic components,
five (5) components from each mold cavity shall be included in
the first article sample.  The components shall bear a mark which
identifies the component with the individual cavities.
3.3  Molded or plastic components.  All molded and plastic
components shall be in accordance with applicable drawings and
specifications.
3.4 Fuze assemblies and parts.  The fuze assemblies and
parts shall comply with all requirements specified on Drawing
-
9260 04 and associated drawings and with all requirements
specified in applic able standards and specifications.
3.5  Spring embrittlement . None of the springs used in the
fabrication of the Safety and Arming Device (S&A) shall break
when extended to the point of minimum permanent distortion.
3.6 Spring set.  The setback spring, after being subjected
to a temperature of 175F - 180F at a compressed length of .750
inch for 24 hours and then allowed to cool at ambient for 24
hours, shall return to within .015 inch of its original free
length.
3.7  Setback weight return capability.  The setback weight
in the S&A, after being bottomed to the base of the rotor housing
by a force of 20 pounds applied equally to its two top surfaces
and then released, shall return in a continuous motion to the
fully safe position of locking the rotor.
3.8 Rotor reset capability  The rotor assembly in the S&A,
after being rotated between 26 degrees and 35 degrees from the
safe position and then released, shall without external
assistance and in a continuous motion be returned by the spring
loaded setback weight to it s fully safe and locked position.
