6.7
Definitions.
6.7.1 Safe to handle. The fuze will be considered safe to
handle if after electronic examination and tear down the
following conditions are met:
a. The rotor shall be in the safe position and secured by
setback weight such that it cannot be turned to the armed
position with finger pressure.
The lock roller pin on the rotor shall not be broken.
b.
c. The setback weight shall be in the fully safe position
(raised to its highest position).
d. No loose explosive shall be present in the fuze
assembly.
e. No parts shall be broken or deformed which. could present
a safety hazard in handling or inadvertent firing.
6.7.2
Fuze arming and non-arming definitions.
a. Times under 0.70 second are classed as arming time under
minimum.
b. Times 0.91 second through 1.20 seconds are classed as
arming time over maximum.
c. Times over 1.20 seconds or fuzes which do not arm or
fuzes which time but do not detent are classed as failures to
arm.
6.8.1 Packaging and packing. The contractor will provide
the .paackaging and the packing for the 12 Meter (40-foot) Drop.
6.8.2 PXR6358 test warhead. The contractor will provide
PXR6358 test warheads for the 12 Meter (40-foot) Drop, One and
one-half Meter (5-foot) Drop and Ballistic Tests.
6.8.3 Inert MK66 rocket motor. The contractor will provide
Inert MK66 Rocket Motor for the 12-meter (40-foot) Drop Test.
6.9 Source control and specification control drawings.
Certificates of Conformance from the supplier certifying that the
item compiles with the drawing requirements shall be provided to
the Government representative upon request.
