4.4.3 Testing is described in the First Article and
Quality Conformance Inspection Tables.
4.4.4 Inspection Equipment.- The inspection equipment
required-t o perform the examinations and tes ts prescribed herein
is describ ed in the "Paragraph Refer ence/Ins pection Method"
column in the tables starting with p aragraph 4.4.2.1. The
contractor shall submit for approval inspect ion equipment desires
in accordance with the terms of the contract,  See section 6
of MIL-A-48078 and section 6.3 herein,
4.5 Methods of Inspection.
PRECAUTION:  This specification covers sampling and testing
of chemical, toxic or explosive materials which are potentially
hazardous to personnel. Accordingly, it is emphasized that all
applicable safety rules, regulations and procedures must be
followed in handling and processing these materials.
4.5.1 Materials, Components and Processes.-  Compliance
with all requirements of Section 3 of this specification shall be
ascertained by current and continuing examinations of inspection
and test data to determine that all components (parts, subassemblies,
and materials) have been inspected and tested and found to comply
with their respective drawing and specification requirements
and that all specified manufacturing processes have been followed.
4.5.1.1 Visual and Mechanical Inspection.- The visual,
manual and mechanical inspections and tests shall verify compliance
with the requirements of Section 3 and 5 of this Specification
in accordance with 4,4.2 herein and Table I.
4.5,2 Umbilical Continuity Test.-  Each fuze umbilical shall
be connected to an unibilical continuity tester that has an out-
put pulse width of 100 10 MS, output impedance of 150 K ohms
typical and having an output open circuit voltage of 100 + 10
millivolts.  Each umbilical must meet the acceptance requirements.
Any fuze that does not meet the acceptance requirements shall
be classed defective.
4.5.3 Booster functioning.
4.5,3.1 Booster Function Sa mpling and Acceptance Criteria,-
Beginning with the first production lot, fifty  50) complete
fuzes (or M433 fuze simulator) with live boosters shall be selected
and tested from each lot.  If two or more fuzes or simulated fuzes
fail to detonate high order, the lot shall be rejected. The
fifty (50) samples shall all be fired regardless of the failure
rate.
