3.3.29 Fording function. The weapon system shall be capable of
fording a depth of 30 inches with leakage into the carriage not to exceed
473 cubic centimeters (one pint) per hour. All components and assembles
below the 30 inch fording depth shall not suffer degradation in perfor-
mance from water. Testing shall be as specified in 4.4.
3.4 Environmental. The weapon system shall meet the performance
requirements of this specification as specified in 3.3 during exposure
to or after exposure to, environmental conditions specified In 3.4.1
through 3.4.9. Testing shall be as specified in 4.4.
3.4.1 Altitude.  The weapon system shall operate without failure
at altitudes from sea level to 10,000 feet and shall be transportable at
altitudes up to 40,000 feet.
3.4.2 Temperature.  The weapon system shall operate without failure
in temperatures ranging from 40 to +125F. The weapon system shall
function as specified herein after storage in a temperature of +155F for
a minimum of four hours.
3.4.3 Rain.  The weapon system, with no protective cover, shall
show no degrdation of performance or evidence of corrosion which would
prevent the weapon system from performing its intended function when
exposed to rain and wind conditions specified in Procedure I, Method 506
of MIL-STD-81O.
The weapon system shall show no degradation of
3.4.4 Humidity.
performance when:
a. Exposed to relative humidity of five percent at 125F to
100 percent at 85F.
b. Stored in a relative humidity of 100 percent at 85F
for a minimum of 48 hours.
3.4.5 Fungus.  The weapon system shall be resistant to micro-
organisms specified in Method 508 of MIL-STD-81O.
