4.6 Performance.
4.6.1 Piercing pin. A carbon dioxide filled cylinder conforming to MIL-C-25369 type II shall
be fully installed in the inflation assembly by hand tightening The assembly shall then be inspected
to ensure the cylinder has not been punctured by listening for the sound of escaping gas. The
carbon dioxide filled cyiinder shell then be removed and the top of the cyiinder examined for
evidence of puncture and leakage (see 3.5.1).
