MIL-I-60166(MU)
4.6.8.6 Power factor range. - This test shall be conducted utilizing standard
measuring equipment. The input voltages shall be established at the minimum
voltage, the mean voltage and the maximum voltage of the 18 to 30 Vdc operational
voltage range. The inverter shall operate for a minimum of one hour at each of
the input voltages with the minimum power factor loads required to obtain the
factor of 0.8 leading and 0.6 lagging. The power factor shall be measured by
means of a power factor meter.
4.6.9 Operability.- This test shall be conducted in accordance with the
temperatures specified in 3.8. While stabilized at each of the specified tempera-
ture extremes specified in 3.8 the inverter shall be energized and continuously
operated in accordance with the requirements specified in 3.8. Subsequent to the
continuous operation at each temperature extreme, the inverter shall be subjected
to the tests specified in 4.6.8 to 4.6.8.6 inclusive and shall conform to the require-
ments referenced therein.
4.6.10 Efficiency. The inverter shall be inspected in accordance with the
conditions specified in 3.9. Upon completion of the 10 minute stabilization period,
the inverter shall be operated continuously as specified for 8 hours. Failure of
the inverter to meet the requirements of 3.9 during continuous operation shall be
cause for rejection.
4.6.11 Radio interference. - Inspection for radio interference shall be con-
ducted in accordance with Test Methods and Procedures specified in Specification
MIL-I-26600 to determine compliance with 3.10.
5. PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY
5.1 Packaging, packing and marking. - Packaging, packing and marking
shall be in accordance with Specification MIL-P-14232 and Packaging Data Sheet
MIL-P-14232/P10516412.  The level of protection shall be as specified in the
procurement document.
6. NOTES
6.1 Intended use. - This static inverter is primarily intended to supply
ac power to the electronic and/or electrical components of various tanks. It is
designed to operate from a 24 vdc source (storage batteries) and invert this
voltage to 115 vac, 400 cps.
6.2 Ordering data. - Procurement documents should specify the following:
(a) Title, number and date of this specification.
(b) Selection of applicable levels of preservation, packaging and
packing
(c) Applicable stock number.
