3.1.2 Moisture content.
The moisture content of the black powder, as
loaded, shall be 0.5% maximum.

3.2 Parts. The parts shall comply with all requirements specified
in MIL-I-60455 MARK 125 MOD 5, Parts For.

3.2.1 S uib. The squib shall comply withall requirements specified
in MIL-S-14977, Squib MARK 1 MOD O, For 2.75 Inch Rocket.
3.3 Igniter assembly.  No powder grains shall be present at the con-
tact surfaces of the cover and case before crimping. The completed Igniter
assembly shall not evidence, on any external surface, any trace of explosive
composition or extraneous material affecting use, safety, or appearance. A
suitable shorting device or method shall be applied to the bare ends of the
lead wires before storage and shipping.

3.4 Iqniter functioning.  The igniters, when subjected to a direct
current (D.C.) firing current of 1.5 0.15 amperes at the specified tempera-
tures, shall function with no indication of ejects. Each Igniter shall
function within the time spectfied in 4.3.3.5.
3.5 Transporation vibration.  The igniters, after being subjected to
conditions simulating those encountered in transportation and service, shall
be airtight, have proper electrical continuity, and insulation resistance,
and shall function at the three temperatures specified.

3.6 Airtightness.  The igniter, after being vibrated and checked for
electrical continuity, and insulation resistance, shall be subjected to the
airtightness test  0 and shall show no evidence of air leakage at normal room
0
temperature of 70 F 10F (21 C 5.5C).

accordance with best practices.  All parts shall be free of any foreign
matter.  The cleaning method used shall not be injurious to any part nor
shall the parts be contaminated by the cleaning agent. Surface coatings
shall be continuous except for a few light scratches which do not expose
