MIL-I-60476A(MI)
4.3.3.3 Transportation Vibration Test (see 3.5) Major defect -
Lode No. 05001.  Ninety acceptable igniters shall be randomly selected
from the sample tested in para 4.3.3.1 and 4.3.3.2. This test shall be
performed on every lot.  The sample shall be tested as specified in
4.4.3 using equipment in accordance with 4.3.4. The selected igniters
shall be numbered consecutively and their respective electrical circuit
resistance and insulation breakdown determined before testing. Those
vibrated and accepted, numbered 1-90, inclusive, shall be used for the
Air Tightness Test (see 4.3.3.4) and the Functioning Test (see 4.3.3.5).
For acceptance of the lot after vibration, no igniter circuit shall be
found to fall outside the resistance limits of 0.7 ohms to 1.3 ohms,
inclusive, and the electrical resistance between connected lead wires
and any portion of the bared metal of the igniter case and cover shall
be not less than 50,000 ohms, and no igniter shall have fired. Prior
to subjection to the igniter functioning test, the samples shall be
subjected to the airtightness test.
4.3.3.4 Airtightness Test (see 3.6) Major defect-code No. 06001.
The iqniters, after meetinq the requirements of the vibration test
(see 4.3.3.3) shall be subjected to an airtightness test as specified
in 4.4.4 using equipment in accordance with 4.3.4. The samples for
this test shall be those samples chosen for vibration in para 4.3.3.3.
Maximum allowable rejects is one.
4.3.3.5 Igniter Functioning Test (see 3.4) Major defect -
code No. 07001.  Igniters, after the vib ration and airtightness tests,
shall be subjected to the igniter functioning test as specified in
4.4.5 using equipment in accordance with 4.3.4.  Those igniters
previously passing the airtightness test shall be used for this test.
All igniters shall fire.  If one igniter fails to fire, the lot shall
be rejected.  For the purpose of assessment of the lot any igniter which
exceeds 40 milliseconds shall cause rejection of the lot. The Mean Upper
Limit of samples at all temperatures when computed individually shall be
twenty-two (22) milliseconds.  The Quality Index shall be calculated as
described in MIL-STD-414 for each temperature. An estimate of Lot
Percent Defective for any temperature as determined from Table B5 of
MIL-STD-414 greater than 3.91 shall cause rejection of the lot.
Evidence of ejecta from three or more igniters fired during this test
shall reject the lot.  After functioning, material missing from the
igniter case shall be considered evidence of ejects. One or more
failures of the squib face to an area equivalent to a circle with a
diameter of O.10 inches (2.54 millimeters (min)) shall reject the lot.
