3.2.1 Item definition.  This item consists of an electric
squib/match charge to be used for igniting a standard a 155MM (HC)
Hexachloroethane Smoke Canister.
3.3 Moisture content.
3.3.1 Paper and paper products.  The moisture content of the
paper and paper products components of the igniter, electric match
assembly at the loading station at the time of loading shall not
exceed 6.0 percent.
3.4  Functioning (Ambient temperature, 21 3C, 70 5F,
Hot 51.5 3C, 125 5F, Cold -32 3C, -25 5F).  The
assembly shall function and comply with the following requirements
after conditioning at specified temperature.
3.4.1 Performance.  The igniter, electric match  shall function
with a soft ignition and burn for a duration of 195  seconds
producing a high energy flame capable of igniting a 155MM HC Smoke
Canister.
3.4.2 Functioning time.  The time from application of
twenty-four (24) plus or minus () two (2) Volts Direct Current
(VDC), with minimum ignition current of 3.0 milliwatt seconds/ohm,
to initiation of the assembly shall not be greater than 0.20 seconds,
3.5 Environmental conditions.
3.5.1 Low temperature.  The igniters, shall be capable of
withstanding low temperature conditions as specified in 4.5.4.1 and
shall meet the performance requirements when-test fired as specified
in 4.5.3.
3.5.2 High and ambient tempe rature.  The igniters, shall be
capable of withstanding high and ambient temperature conditions as
specified in 4.5.4.2 and meeting the performance requirements when
test fired as specified in 4.5.3.
The igniter shall not leak when tested as

Leakage shall constitute a failure.
3.5.4 Leakage test.  The igniters, when packaged, shall be
capable of withstanding exposure to the leakage test as specified in
4.5.4.4 and meeting the performance requirements when test fired.
