*
Oral inflation tube clamp.  The clamp that secures the oral inflation
3.5.3
tube assembly to the oral tube shall be covered with protective tape or
shrink tubing.
3.4
Performance
*
Operation.  The life raft shall inflate to its design shape within
3.4.1
50 seconds after actuation of the FLU-2A/P inflation assembly and shall not
show any evidence of constructional or material failure.
*
3.4.2
Pressure.  A minimum of 10 minutes after the primary buoyancy tube
of the life raft has been inflated to 5.0 pounds per square inch (PSIg) ,
the primary buoyancy tube shall still retain a pressure of not less than
4.75 psig and shall not show any evidence of constructional or material
failure.
3.4.3
Leakage.  A minimum of 6 hours after the primary buoyancy tube of
the life raft has been inflated to a pressure of 2.0 psig, the primary
buoyancy tube shall still retain a pressure of not less than 1.5 psi.
x
Canopy and floor inflation.  Three hours after the inflatable
3.4.4
floor and the inflatable canopy sections of the LRU-16/P life raft
have been inflated through the oral inflation valve assembly to the
design shape (10 inches of water pressure), the inflatable floor and
the inflatable canopy sections of the LRU-16/P life raft shall have a
retained pressure of 5 inches of water and shall not show any evidence
of separation of any point of attachment of the "quilts" or of any seam.
3.4.5
Burst strength
* 3.4.5.1 Floor and canopy.  The inflatable floor and the inflatable
canpoy sections of the LRU-16/P life raft shall not burst nor show
any evidence of constructional or material failure at pressure less
than 3.
*
3.4.5.2
Primary buoyancy tube.  The primary buoyancy tube of the life raft
shall not burst nor show any evidence of constructional or material failure
at pressure less than 9.0 psig.
3.4.6
Oral inflation valve assembly.  The oral inflation valve assembly
shall conform to all of the performance requirements described in MIL-O-81375.
*
3.4.7
Primary buoyancy tube inflation.  There shall be no restriction of
flow of air into the primary buoyancy tube.  There shall be no malfunction
nor incompatibility of the inlet check valve.  There shall be no malfunction
of the oral inflation valve.
