TEST METHOD NO. 4
LOW-TEMPERATURE TEST (-25F)
Test Apparatus :
1.
a,
Cold chamber.
Arctic clothing.
b.
Battery hydrometer.
c.
Voltmeter.
d.
Test Procedure:

Service the loader with applicable lubricants for -25F operation
a.
including engine oil, transmission oil, and drive train lubricants.
Check the specific gravity of each battery cell to insure full
b.
charge.
Subject the loader to an ambient temperature of -25F until
c.
al parts, lube oil, and coolant, nave stabilized at -25F.
One operator wearing arctic clothing, including mittens, shall
d.
perform all priming and starting operations.
Crank the engine using the loader battery that is cold soaked
e.
and stabilized at -25F.  Substitute or supplementary batteries or other
electrical cranking energy shall not be used.
Smooth engine running without unnatural or continued control
f.
manipulation and without use of primers and priming fluids should be
obtained with 15 minutes after starting.
When started, run engine 15 minutes.  After completion of the
g.
15 minute operation, operate the engine as follows:
(1) 10 minute idling.
(2) 10 minutes half throttle,
(3) 5 minutes full throttle.
Perform the 25 minute cycle three times.
