are as follows:
a.  A decimal point shall be punched in cc 39 to establish a separation
point between the pagination for the front matter and the rest of the document.
b.  Sequential alpha characters are to be used to identify the
pages in the
front matter of these documents.  They are punched left justified
in cc 40-45.
The page numbers for the rest of the document are punched in cc

delivery of the initial shipment of microfilm and tabulating cards, a single
microfilm frame deck shall accompany each subsequent shipment of microfilm to
cover additions and revisions (see 3.2.6).
3.3.6
DD Form 1310 (E card) part and drawing numbered.  A single part
and drawing number card deck shall accompany each shipment of microfilm when
multiple whole numbers or dash numbers are used to identify individual parts
depicted on multi-detail or tabulated drawings. The E card is required to update
the computer database that is used to manage the drawings in the data repository.
It is used to cross reference the part number depicted by dash numbers on
tabulated drawings to the drawing number.
Multi-detail drawings that use
individual part numbers to identify each detail on the drawing also require an
E card to reference the part number to the drawing number.  A standard 80 column
tabulating card may be used in lieu of the DD Form 1310 card to submit this
information to the Government.  Card punching and interpreting instructions for
DD Form 1310 (E Card) shall be as follows:
