MIL-M-45151C
3.2.4.2 Pintle lock release cam. The pintle lock release cam shall
be capable of rotating throughout its full range of travel without binding.
3.2.5 Traversing and elevating mechanism. With the traversing slide
lock lever loosened, the elevating mechanism assembly shall be capable of
moving on the traversing bar assembly to the 400 mil mark on the left and
to the 400 mil mark on the right. The left side of the elevating mechanism
sleeve shall be in alinement with the 400 mil marks.
3.2.5.1 Quick release pin assembly. The quick release pin assembly
shall be securely attached to the upper elevating screw yoke by the chain
assembly. The quick release pin assembly shall assemble to and disassemble
from the upper elevating screw yoke without binding and when assembled
shall be retained in position by action of the ball detents.
3.2.5.2 Lower elevating screw stop. When the lower elevating screw
stop is in the relaxed position, it shall prevent the elevating mechanism
sleeve from being manually unscrewed from the lower elevating screw. The
lower elevating screw stop shall move throughout its full range of travel,
and when released shall return to its original position by spring action.
3.2.5.3 Micro elevating mechanism. The micro elevating mechanism
shall have a minimum adjustment of 100 mils elevation and 250 mils de-
pression from zero on the upper elevating screw designation plate. The
elevating handwheel shall turn through the full range of adjustment and
shall produce a perceptible click for each mil indication on the elevating
handwheel. The elevating handwheel shall remain in the position selected
(see 3.3).
3.2.5.4 Micro traversing mechanism. The micro traversing mechanism
shall have a minimum adjustment of 45 mils to the right and 45 mils to the
left. The traversing handwheel shall turn through the full range of
adjustment and shall produce a perceptible click for each mil indication
on the traversing mechanism scale dial. The traversing handwheel shall
remain in the position selected (see 3.3).
3.2.5.5 Traversing mechanism scale dial and locking nut. With the
traversing scale dial locking nut loosened, the traversing mechanism scale
dial shall rotate about the traversing screw throughout the full 360 de-
grees without binding and shall be capable of being adjusted to any
position. With the traversing scale dial nut tightened, the traversing
mechanism scale dial shall remain locked securely in the position set.
Retightening is allowed each 100 rounds of endurance (see 3.3).
3.2.5.6 Traversing slide lock lever assembly. The traversing slide
lock lever shall be capable of being manually rotated throughout its full
range of travel without binding and when released shall return to its
original open position by spring action. When the traversing slide lock
lever is in the open position, the elevating mechanism assembly shall be
capable of being assembled to and disassembled from the traversing bar
