3.2.3 Right rear leg assembly. The right rear leg assembly shall be
retained to the tripod head assembly by the bolt and shall pivot about the
bolt throughout the full range of travel without binding.
3.2.3.1 Right sliding sleeve. The right sliding sleeve shall slide
on the right rear leg throughout the fill range of travel without binding,
except that it shall require manual forcing into locking position for a
distance within the range specified on Drawing F7790723.
3,2.3.2 Sleeve latch. The sleeve latch shall rotate about the sleeve
lock pin throughout the full range of travel, and when released shall
return to its original position under spring action. The sleeve latch
shall retain the right sliding sleeve in a locked position and shall release
the right sliding sleeve when the sleeve latch is manually rotated.
3.2.4 Pintle. With the pintle lock body engaged in the groove of
the pintle, pintle shall rotate in the pintle bushing throughout the
full 360 degrees and there shall be no vertical movement.
3.2.5 Pintle lock group assembly. The pintle lock group assembly
shall be securely retained to the tripod head assembly by the two screws
without movement.
3.2.5.1 Pintle lock body. The pintle lock body shall be capable of
engaging in the corresponding groove of the pintle, retaining the pintle,
and remaining in this position by spring action. The pintle lock body
shall be capable of being disengaged from the groove of the pintle by
manually rotating the pintle lock release cam, and shall be capable of being
held in the disengaged position by action of the pintle lock release cam.
3.2.5.2 Pintle lock release cam. The pintle lock release com shall
be capable of rotating throughout the full range of travel.
3.2.6 Pintle assembly. The pintle assembly shall ProperlY engage
the Pintle bushing in the tripod head assembly and be securely retained
in the tripod head assembly by the pintle lock assembly. With the pintle
lock assembly engaged in the groove of the pintle, the pintle assembly
shall rotate freely 360 degrees and there shall be no vertical movement.
3.2.6.1 Latch. The latch shall be capable of being rotated about
the pin throughout the fill range of travel, and when released shall return
to its original position under spring action.
3.2.7 Traverse and elevating mechanism. The traverse and elevating
mechanism shall assemble, be retained, and lock to the traversing bar as
specified in Figure 1.
3.2.7.1 Elevating screw stop assembly. When the elevating screw
stop assembly is in the relaxed position, it shall prevent the elevation
