4.5.2 Lot formation. A lot shall consist of all the material manufactured in one
continuous operation by the same process by the same manufacturer in accordance
with this specification and submitted for inspection at one time.
4.6 Inspection equipment. The inspection equipment for conducting
examination and tests shall be as specified in the applicable test methods paragraphs
(see 4.8) to verify conformance with requirements in section 3.
4.7 Test specimen preparation. Unless otherwise specified herein, specimens
shall be prepared as follows to verify conformance with requirements in section 3.
a.
A 12 x 12 inch flat panel shall be molded from the material as follows:
1.
Four plies, 12 x 12 inches, shall be cut form the sample.
2.
The panel shall be layed up so that the unidirectional rovings in
the first three plies are parallel and in the fourth ply (outside) at 90.
b.
The panel shall be cured by placing the lay-up in a 12 inch mold
preheated from 65 to 74C, and applying sufficient pressure to close the mold to stops
which will control the panel thickness to 0.117 0.005 inch. The panel shall be cured
for 25 + 5 or
- 0.0 minutes.
c.
The cured panel shall be removed from the mold and allowed to cool to
ambient room temperature.
