between the front axle and the rear axle. This movement shall permit not
less than 8 inches difference in elevation between adjacent wheels on each
side as measured from the level vehicular structure l  Rubber bumpers shall
be provided to cushion the axle at full jounce. For tandems, the suspension
configuration shall nullify brake-hop during all degrees of brake application.

3.9.6.2 Axle assemblies.  The axle assemblies and components of these
assemblies are the permissible options to be incorporated in the vehicles of
the mixing plant.  At the discretion of the supplier, similar standard com-
mercial axles with equal or greater axle manufacturer's load rating are
acceptable. The selection, quantity of axles, and location shall be at the
discretion of the supplier, and the load on any one axle shall not exceed
the limit specified in table II for each type trailer.
3.9.6.2.1 MS35865-A axle assembly.  The axle shall conform to MS35865,
dash number Al, A2, A4, or A5.  The maximum axle load shall be limited to the
sum of the tire-capacity ratings l  The axle shall be compatible with the air-
over-hydraulic brake system as specified in 3. 9.7.1.  Except as permtted in
3.9.6.2.3, the axle shall be equipped with single wheels, tires, and inner
tubes. Tires and wheels shall conform to the standards listed on MS35865
for the axle furnished.  Inner tubes shall be selected from MS35392 to fit
the tires. The foundation brakes for each axle shall not not less than .
330 square inches of' swept braking surface area.

axle load shall be limited to 18,000 pounds,  Except as permitted in 3.9.6.2.3,
the axle shall be equipped with duel wheels, tires, and inner tubes. Tires
and wheels shall conform to the standards listed on MS35865, type  C, Inner
tubes shall conform to MS35392-15. The foundation brakes for each axle shall
have not less than 560 square inches of swept braking surface area. The
foundation brake assemblies shall be self-adjusting, right angle actuated
type.
3.9.6.2.3 Wide-base tires and wheels.  Single wide-base tires and wheels
may be substituted for the tires, inner tubes, and wheels sqecified in
3.9.6.2.1 and 3.9.6.2.2.  All components shall be in accordance with the
TRA Yearbook end Supplementary Service Data for 30 mph speeds.  MS35865,
type A axles shall be equipped with wide-base tubeless tires, size 12 by 16.5,
10 ply rating, having traction lug tread design. Disc wheels shall be size
9.75 by 16.5, 3/4-inch positive offset, of the drop-center 6-hole type con-
forming to SAE J694 , having an 8-3/4-inch bolt circle . MS35865, type  C axles
shall be equipped with wide-base tubeless tires, size 16.5 by 22.5,  16 ply
rating,  having traction lug tread design.  Disc wheels shall be size 13.00 by
22.5, industry standard positive or negative offset,  of the 10-hole type
