3.34 Technical publications.
Such technical publications as `are specified
shall be furnished.

3.35 Repair parts and maintenance tools.

3.36 Toolbox.  Each trailer and semitrailer shall be provided with a
weatherproof toolbox made of steel not less than O.071 inch thick. The tool-
box shall be provided with a lid having a continuous hinge along one edge.
The toolbox lid shall open to at least 90 degrees from the closed position.
The lid shall remain in the fully open position either by its own weight or
by holding devices.  Two hook-type tension fasteners with strikers shall be
provided to keep the lid closed.  The fasteners shall be attached to the tool-
box by either bolts or rivets.  A hasp which will accommodate a padlock having

a 3/8-inch shackle shall be provided for locking the toolbox.  The toolbox
shall be fastened to the trailer or semitrailer in a protected position. A
drain hole with rubber plug shall be provided in the bottom of the toolbox.
A metal compartment shall be provided within the toolbox for storage of the
technical publications.  The toolbox shall be of a size to hold the technical
publications and tool specified.
3.37 Items to be furnished with the mixing plant. No shipment of mixing
plants shall be made unless repair parts, tools, and accessories are included
with the shipment or unless approval for shipment of the mixing plant without

such items has been received from the contracting officer.
3.38 Workmanship.  All parts, components, and assemblies of the mixing
plant including castings, forgings, molded parts, stampings, bearings, seals,
machined surfaces, and welded parts shall be clean and free from sand, dirt,
fins, pits, sprues, scales flux, and other harmful, extraneous material.
External surfaces shall be free from burrs, Sharp edges, and corners except
when sharp edges and corners are required.
3.38.1 Steel fabrication.  Metal used in the fabrication of the mixing
plant shall be free from kinks and sharp bends. Shearing and chipping shall
be done neatly and accurately.  Corners shall be square and true. Flame
cutting of steel may be employed instead of shearing or sawings.  Burned
surfaces of flame-cut steel shall be ground or machined sufficiently to
remove ash and cooling checks.  All burrs and rough edges shall be removed.
Precautions shall be taken to avoid overheating, and heated metals shall be
