and loss, and protruding parts that increase cubage and that can be
removed and reassembled without special tools shall be removed. Removed
bolts, nuts, pins, and washers shall be replaced in one of the mating
parts and secured to prevent their loss.  Removed keys shall be secured
in the keyway of the pulley or flywheel.
5.2.1,2" Matchmarking. To facilitate reassembly, removed components
and sections shall be matched. Large- sections and components shall
be matchmarked by stenciled letters or numerals with lusterless
white enamel, overcoated with varnish conforming to TT-V-l2l or MIL-V-1174
or  matchmarked  with  paint  conforming  to  MIL-P-13983. e d

5.2.1.4
Unprotected surfaces.
5.2.1.4.1 Unfinished surfaces.  Components of the mixing plant such

as tie rods, adjusting rods, clevises, coil springs, shafts, couplings,
blowers, screw conveyors, sampling containers, gates, brackets, framing,
leaf springs, linkages, ratchets, pawls, liner sections, exhaust stacks,
grease fittings, washere, pins, bolts, nuts, or any other surface
exposed by sectionalization or disassembly, or any other similar unpainted
exterior metal surface not definitely specified herein requiring the applica-
tion of a contact preservative in accordance with MIL-P-116 shall be
coated with type P-1 preservative.  Unpainted matal identification and
instruction plates shall be creed with varnish conforming to MIL-V-13811.
5.2.1.4.2 Machined surfaces. Exposed exterior machined surfaces
shall be coated with type P-6 preservative. The coated surfaces shall
be wrapped or covered with barrier material conforming to MIL-B-121,
type I, grade A, class 2, and secured in place with tape conforming
to PPP-T-60, type I.
5.2.1.5 Trailer components. The components of the trailer and
semitrailer chassis shall be preserved and packaged in accordance
with MIL-STD-281, Level A (mobile).
