MIL-M-63304A(AR)
4.4.3 Testing
4.4.3.1 Dimensional and weight control of booster pellet (See
Dwg. 9292604). The dimensions  and weight specified in 4.4.2.1 for
the booster pellets shall be checked by randomly selecting three (3)
samples from the quantity produced by each press during a period not
to exceed four (4) hours.  The quantity represented by the samples
shall be identified and not used in production until the
dimensional  and weight inspections are completed.  If any sample
fails to comply with the dimensional requirements, the quantity of
parts represented by the sample shall be subjected to 100%
inspection.  If any sample meets the dimensional requirements but
fails to comply with the applicable weight requirement, its density
shall be determined as specified in 4.5.1.  The above inspection
shall also be performed each time a new lot of explosive material is
used.
4.4.4 Inspection equipment.  The inspection equipment required
to perform the examinations and tests prescribed in this
specification is identified, "either directly or by reference, in the
"Paragraph Reference\Inspection Method" column of the First Article
or Quality Conformance Inspection Forms herein.  The contractor
shall submit inspection equipment designs to the Government for
approval in accordance with the terms of the contract.  See Section
6 of MIL-A-48078, and 6.3 herein.
4.4.5 M128 mine dispenser simulator.  The Simulator Device(s)
shall simulate the M128 Dispenser launch features of spin and
electromagnetic pulse environments to initiate the arming and the
batteries of the mine followed by emplacement of the mine in a test
container or pit for subsequent functioning.  SPIN:  3075 to 3600
RPM.  Transmitter Assembly:  can be set for normal or long
(extended) Self Destruct as required (See Dwg's 9293021 and 9293046).
4.5 Methods of inspection
4.5.1 Density of booster pellet.  Density of the booster
pellet, when required - See 4.4.3.1 and Dwg. 9292604, shall be
performed in accordance with the procedure specified in ASTM D792 -
"Specific Gravity and Density of Plastics of Displacement", Method
A-1.  The contractor may use alternate procedures than that
specified herein, subject to the approval of the Government.  If the
sample of pellets from 4.4.3.1 fails to comply with the density
requirements, the quantity of parts represented by the sample shall
(Non-destructive inspection)
be subjected to 100% weight inspection.
