MIL-M-63333(AR)
selected and controlled as to insure that the test equipment will reliably
indicate acceptability of a product which does not exceed 90% of the
prescribed tolerance limit, and permit positive rejection when non-conforming.
Construction shall be such as to facilitate routine calibration of test
equipment.
4.5.2.3 Inspection equipment design requirements.
4.5.2.3.1 Sealing.  The special testing equipment for this test shall
consist of a holding device and a head assembly device.  The holding device
shall contain a mounting surface that simulates the vehicle turret roof (see
Drawing FII834833 for turret roof thickness), and shall permit mounting and
orienting the mounts specified 3.4.  The head assembly device shall conform to
the external configuration of the Head Assembly FI0542204 or F10558203, and
contain the necessary keyways, dimensions, and mounting features of the head
assembly.
4.5.2.3.2 Rigidity (line of sight retention) pre-vibration and
post-vibration, and periscope mounting repeatability. The special testing
equipment for these tests shall consist of the following main assemblies:
a.
Mounting plate assembly
b.
Line of sight test stand assembly
c.
Body assembly device
d.
Vibration test stand assembly
e.
Vibration machine
4.5.2.3.2.1 Mounting plate assembly.  The mounting plate assembly shall
simulate the vehicle turret roof (see Drawing F11834833 for turret roof
thickness), and shall permit mounting and orienting the periscope mount as
specified in 3.4.  Features shall be designed into the mounting plate assembly
that will assure positive and accurate positioning and repositioning (repeated
removal and replacement) of the mounting plate assembly on the line of sight
test stand assembly within 5 seconds in all planes.
4.5.2.3.2.2 Line of sight test stand assembly. The assembly shall
function as a holder for the mounting plate assembly with the periscope mount
in its normal operating position (see 3.4).  Features shall h-designed into
the line of sight test stand assembly that will assure positive and accurate
positioning and re-positioning (repeated removal and replacement) of the
mounting plate assembly on the test stand assembly within 5 seconds in all
planes. An angle reading telescope, as shown in Figure 1, shall also be part
of the test stand assembly.  The angle reading telescope shall have an
entrance pupil of at least 2.0 inches, and the capability of reading line of
