4.4.3 Testing.  Testing is described in the First Article and Quality
Conformance Inspection tables.
4.4.4 Inspection equipment.  The inspection equipment (gage) required to
perform the inspections and tests prescribed in this specification is
identified in the `Paragraph Reference/Inspection Method' column in the tables
starting with paragraph 4.4.2.1, and the test method paragraph (see 4.5). The
contractor shall submit for approval, inspection equipment designs in
accordance with the terms of the contract.  See Section 6 of MIL-A-48078, and
6.3 herein.
4.5 Test methods and procedures
4.5.1 Salt spray test.  The applicable parts shall be tested in
accordance with ASTM-B-117 using a 5% salt solution and with the requirements
specified on the applicable drawings and specifications.  The rejection
criteria shall be as specified in the applicable specifications.  Assemblies
subjected to this test shall not be returned to the lot.
4.5.2 Hardness test.  A sample of five (5) push-on fasteners shall be
selected from each lot or heat treat batch and tested for hardness in
accordance with ASTM-E-18.  The lot or heat treat batch shall be rejected if
any sample fails to meet the hardness requirement specified on the drawing.
PACKAGING

5.1 Preservation-packaging.
Packaging shall be Level B in accordance
with MIL-STD-1188.
Packing shall be Level B in accordance with MIL-STD-1188.
5.2 Packing.
5.3 Marking.
Marking shall be Level B in accordance with MIL-STD-1188.
NOTES
6.
6.1 Intended use.  The metal parts covered by this specification are
intended for assembly of the BLU-91/B Anti-tank, and BLU-92/B Antipersonnel
Mines .
6.2 Ordering data.
Procurement documents shall specifiy the following:
a.
Title, number, and date of this specification.
b.
Provisions of MIL-A-48078.
c.
Provisions for submission of first article samples.
6.3 Submission of inspection equi pment designs for approval. (See
MIL-A-48078).  Submit equipment designs as required, to Comnander, U.S. Army
Armament Research and Development Command, ATTN:  DRDAR-QAT-1, Dover, New
Jersey 07801.
