MIL-N-81207A(AS)
accept the first antenna which provides satisfactory signal level.
The equipment shall provide either a low impedance (less than 100
ohms) or a high impedance (greater than 10 k ohm) state for the
control of the antenna switch.  The antenna switch shall not be a
part of the equipment specified herein and shall be a type SA-
521/A in accordance with Specification MIL-S-25879 or an approved
eqivalent.  In the absence of a usable signal the antenna
selector shall continuously sample the signal delivered from each
of the two antennas in an alternating manner such that the antenna
transfer control voltage is switched to effect transfer of
antennas not less than 3 nor more than 6 seconds after the start
of the sampling period for a given antenna.
3.5.1.12
Built-in-Test - The equipment shall contain
built-in test features in accordance with AR-10, and as detailed
herein.  The built-in test features shall include an equipment
monitor function and and equipment self-test function.
3.5.1.12.1
Equipment Monitor - Equipment readiness shall
be determined by continuous monitoring of critical functional
parameters, without interruption of equipment operation. At any
time any critical performance parameter falls below the level
specified for acceptable operation, a "NO-GO" indication shall be
displayed on the control unit.  The readiness monitoring function
shall, as a minimum, determine the proper operation of the
following parameters:
In the T/R Mode the minimum peak RF power
(a)
level shall be 750 watts.  In the A/A and
DME-Only Modes, the minimum peak RF power
shall be 750 watts for 300 pps and 250
watts for 1650 pps.
VSWR shall be less than 3:1, NO-GO if
(b)
greater than 6:1.  (T/R and A/A).
Bearing measurement (REC, T/R and A/A)
(c)
Distance measurement (T/R and A/A)
(d)
A/A Transponder (A/A)
(e)
Frequency synthesizer shall be in lock.
(f)
