MIL-N-81207A(AS)
Power - Transmitter power in the BCN mode shall
3.5.1.14.1.1
not be less than 600 watts at 1650 pulses per second, including
reference bursts, when the load impedance is 50 5 ohms
resistive l
Pulse Droop - Pulse droop shall not exceed 3
3.5.1.14.1.2
dB.
Inverse TACAN - In addition to the requirements
3.5.1.15
specified elsewhere herein, the equipment when used with an
antenna producing a 15 Hz modulated rotating pattern with
associated interfacing circuitry, shall measure distance and
bearing (referred to magnetic north) to complementary beacons
(airborne or surface) transmitting only squitter pulses and/or DME
replies.
Accuracy
3.5.1.15.1
Distance - The distance measurement accuracies
3.5.1.15.1.1
shall be as shown in Table II.
Bearing - The accuracy of the Inverse TACAN
3.5.1.15.1.2
bearing measurements shall be as follows:
Signal Strength
Analog Accuracy
Digital Accuracy
-82 dBm to 0 dBm
2.5
2.0
Below -82 dBm
3.0
2.5
This requirement shall be applicable over a 7% to 40% range of
modulation  ~ with and without auxiliary reference groups.
Reply and Squitter Pulse Distribution - The
3.5.1.15.2
Inverse TACAN accuracies shall be maintained for beacons
transmitting only DME replies and/or squitter pulses varying
between 700 and 2700 pulses per second.
DME Only Beacon - In addition to the above, the
3.5.1.16
equipment shall be capab le of transmitting single pulse replies or
substitute squitter pulses at a rate of 1350 300 pulses per
second.  Distribution shall be generally random except that the
minimum interval between transmissions shall be 60 microseconds.
This requirement applies when using a standard TACAN omni-
directional airborne antenna.
