MIL-N-81207A(AS)
AN/ASW-27 A/A Data Link Interface - The TACAN
3.5.7.15
Equipment shall provide the foll owing output signals for direct
input to the AN/ASW-27 A/B or approved equivalent Data Link
subsystem.
3.5.7.15.1  Quantized Analog Range - Measured TACAN range
shall be represented in a quantized analog form consisting of
positive pulses whose duration is directly proportional to
measured range.  Range pulse characteristics, when loaded by 91
ohms and 500 pf to ground, shall be as follows:
Logical 1
5.0 Volts dc 1.0 Volts dc
0.0 Volts dc 0.5 Volts dc
Logical O
Rise Time
10% to 90% amplitude, 0.5 microsecond maximum
Fall Time
90% to 10% of amplitude, 0.5 microsecond maximum
Pulse duration when measured at the pulse 50% point:
O nautical miles - 9.9 microsecond 1.0 microsec.
300 nautical miles - 3717 microsecond 3.5 microsec.
140 pulses per second nominal
Repetition rate:
20 pulses per second minimum
Quantized Analog Bearing
3.5.7.15.2
- Measured TACAN
bearing shall be provided in a quantized
se analog form
consisting of a reference rectangular wave and a variable
-rectangular wave whose phase difference represents the measured
TACAN bearing.  Bearing rectangular wave characteristics when
loaded by 91 ohms and 500 pf to ground shall be as follows:
5.0 Volts dc 1.0 Volts dc
Logical 1
Logical O
0.0 Volts dc 0.5 Volts dc
Rise Time
10% to 90% of amplitude - 1.0 microsecond maximum
Fall Time
90% to 10% of amplitude - 1.0 microsecond maximum
Repetition frequency (reference and variable waves)-15l% per second.
The range of phase difference between the positive edge of the
reference pulse and the positive edge of the variable pulse shall
be 0.0 0.3 degrees to 359.8 0.3 degrees.
TACAN Bearing Clock - A 54 kHz clock output
3.5.7.15.3
shall be provided to determine TACAN bearing phase delay".  Zero
47.
