3.5.10.4.3.4
NAV - Power applied during ALIGN shall remain during
NAV.
3.5.10 .4.3.5
SLAVE - Power applied during ALIGN shall remain
during SLAVE.
3.5.10.4.3.6
ATTD - When the Mode Selector Switch is turned to
ATTD, the Battery Unit shall force the Back Up Level discrete (D6) to
the CN-1231 Gyroscope Assembly (GA) and shall also turn off power to the
NC and to SDC.
3.5.10.4.3.7
Reversing Selector Switch - Reversal of the Mode
Selector Switch from ATTD to SLAVE, SLAVE to NAV, NAV to ALIGN or from
ALIGN to CMPTR shall cause no reversion in system operation. Reversal
of the Mode Selector Switch to OFF shall be recognized and shall cause
the system to shut off; a new start sequence shall be required to turn
on again.
3.5.10.4.4
Power Failure and Power Shutdown - Power failure and
shutdown shall require the following:
3.5.10.4.4.1
Shutdown - Normal operating procedure shall require
the pilot to turn the Mode Selector Switch to OFF prior to shutting off
aircraft power, in order to avoid unnecessary Battery Unit and PP-4964
Power Supply use at each shutdown.
3.5.10.4.4.2
Low Battery - The Battery Unit shall indicate the
existence of low battery voltage or open battery circuit by issuing a
high level single ended logic discrete to the NC.
3.5.10.4.4.3
Power Failure Operation
(1) Less than 10 seconds: Continue the IMS, the NC
and the Battery Unit on battery.  Return to
normal when power reappears in less than 10
seconds.
(2) Greater than 10 seconds nominal: Turn off the
IMS, SDC, and NC power.
3.5.10.4.4.4
Selector OFF - After the automatic shutdown of
Paragraph 3.5.10.4.4.3(2), the Battery Unit shall not allow the system
to turn ON unless the Mode Selector Switch has been reset to OFF position,
and returned to one of the ON positions.
