2.4 Order of precedence. In the event of a conflict between the text of this document and the
references cited herein, the text of this document takes precedence. Nothing in this document, however,
supersedes applicable laws and regulations unless a specific exemption has been obtained.
3. REQUIREMENTS
3.1 Description. The high-voltage oscillator, hereinafter called the oscillator, shall be a solid-state,
electronic device for converting 6.75 volts dc (V dc) input to 2,700 volt ac peak-to-peak output at a
frequency of 1.2 to 2.0 kilohertz (kHz) and shall conform to figure 1 and as specified herein.
