3.2:17 Identification plates.
3.2.17.1 Identification plates shall be furnished on each pump and shall
be type A or B in accordance with MIL-P-15024 and MIL-P-15024/5, except that
identification plates of plastic or aluminum shall not be used.
3.2.17.2 Identification plates shall be secured to equipment with corrosion-
resistant metallic screws or rivets.
Pump identification plates shall contain data as follows:

Manufacturer's name.
(a)
Manufacturer's model or type and size.
(b)
Service application.
(c)
Manufacturer's serial number.
(d)
(e)
Salient design characteristics:
(1) Capacity in gallons per minute (gal/rein).
(2) Total head in lb/in2.
(3) Speed of shaft in r/rein.
(4) Brake hp.
(5) Test pressure.
(6) Special data vital to the-unit:
a.  Suction pressure.
b.  Submergence.
c.  Impeller diameter.
(f)
Contract number (and item number for multiple unit orders).
National stock number.
(g)
(h)
Section for Defense Contract Administration Service Managment
Area (DCASMA) stamp.
Navy standard pump number.
Coponent identification number (CID) consisting of nine digits
that will be supplied to the successful bidder. No materials
shall be shipped until the CID is included on the identification
plate.

Nameplates to specify actual characteristics of maximum head
capacity (WIC) on top half with space provided on botton half
to Specify new characteristics as a result of the trimming
The following warning instructions shall be stamped in the
middle of the nameplate of the pump unit:
"WARNING:  The pump included in this pump unit contains a
maximum diameter impeller.  Before installation, verify'
required operating characteristics.  Refer to instruction
book for impeller trimming instructions.  After impeller in
this unit is trimmed, complete lower section of nameplate <."
For pumps that cannot accommodate one nameplate containing the
(l)
complete data required, the use of a standard nameplate on the
pumps plus a bottom section nameplate for MHC pumps, mounted
directly' below the standard nameplate is acceptable.A middle
nameplate (for MHC pumps only) may be a separate nameplate for
attaching to the side of the mounting bracket.
