4.3 Sampling
4.3.1 For nondestructive examination.
assembled equipment shall be selected in
each unit of the sample shall be inspected in accordance with 4.4. Any
equipment containing one or more defects shall be rejected.  If the num-
ber of such defective equipments in any sample exceeds the acceptance
number for that sample, the lot represented by the sample shall be re-
jected.  Rejected lots may be offered again for Government inspection
provided all equipments in the lot have been reinspected by the manufac-
turer for the defect(s) causing rejection and all noncomplying units in
the lot have been either corrected or replaced.  Defective equipment of
accepted lots will be accepted as part of the lot only after correction
of all noncompliance items.
4.3.2 Lot size.  Unless otherwise specified in the contract or order,
each shipment of units of product shall be a separate "inspection lot"
4.3.3  Preproduction.
A preproduction sample of two power supplies,
manufactured in accordance with 3.2. 2, shall be subjected to the prepro-
duction tests detailed in 4. at an activity designated by the procuring
activity.  Acceptance of the preproduction sample shall be based on no
