quired by contractors in connection with specific procurement functions
should be obtained from the procuring activity or as directed by the
contracting officer.)
2.2 Other publications. The following document fores a part of
this specification to the extent specified herein. Unless otherwise
indicated, the issue in effect on date of invitation for bids or request
for proposal shall apply:

3. REQUIREMENTS
3.1 Bid samples. Each bidder shall forward three pistols of the
design be proposes, to the test agency specified by the Pro-
curing activity (see 6.2). for evaluation and test to determine compliance
with this specification (see 4.4). Pistols shall be representative of
the manufacturer's normal production. Unless otherwise specified in the
proposed contract) bid sample pistols shall be prepared for delivery in
accordance with level C requirements (see 6.2). Each bidder shall indicate
the nommenclature and model designation used by the manufacturer to identity
the pistol as one that meets the requirements of this specification.
3.1.1 Upon award of the contract, the approved bid sample pistols
submitted by the successful bidder will be used by the contractor and
the Government as manufacturing models in accordance with the manufacturing
model provisions of MIL-W-13855.
3.1.2 For continuation orders when bid sample may not be required,
the contractor shall furnish the manufacturing models and provide the
Government representative with inspection and test records attesting that
the items furnished are physiclly and functionally equivent to the bid
samples which were approved by the Government on prior contact.
