4 .5.15.4 Test mine identification. Test mines shall be
serialized to permit indentification by lot, round, and position
within the projectile.
4.5.16 Tripline deployment. All samples shall be visually
examined and measured when required for the tripline deployment
criteria of 3.12. Any mine failing to meet the specified criteria
shall be classed defective (Non-destructive).
4.5.17 Hazardous dud evaluation procedures. Any sample which
has failed to tire the detonator when subjected to any predesignated
tests for anti-disturbance, breakwire or self destruct shall be
evaluated as follows:
a. Maximum self destruct time shall elapse prior to
additional test inputs.
b. one tripline shall be pulled from each breakwire circuit.
If the mine fires in either attempt it shall be classed as a
c. If the sample under test does not fire in the breakwire
mode it shall be tested for anti-disturbance functioning by
moving it twice to adjacent mine faces. If it fires in any
attempt to fire anti-disturbance it shall be classed as a
d. If the mine does not fire in the anti-disturbance mode, it
shall be tested for self-destruct functioning by allowing to
remain undisturbed for a time period equal to that of the
self-destruct time. If it fires prior to reaching the maximum
self destruct time it shall be classed as a hazardous dud.
