3.1.5 Barium nitrate
3.1.5.1 Type II photoflash powder. Barium nitrate shall
conform to the requirements for Class 2 of MIL-B-162 except
that the granulation shall be as follows:
Through No. 100 sieve - 100 percent  minimum
Through No. 200 sieve - 60 percent minimum
3.1.5.2 Type III, Class A and B photoflash powder. Barium
nitrate shall conform to the requirements for Class 2 of
MTL-B-162.
3.2 Chemical composition. The chemical composition
of the photoflash powder shall conform to the requirements
shown in Table I.

3.3 Moisture. The moisture content of the photoflash
powder shall not exceed 0.1 percent when tested as specified
in 4.4.3.
3.4 Workmanship. The finished powder shall be a uniform
mixture, free from lumps or the tendency to form lumps.
3.5 First article inspection. This specification makes
provisions for first article testing.  Requirements for the
submission of first article samples by the contractor shall
be as specified in the contract.
