4.5.2 Tests.  Perform tests in accordance with the applicable previsions of
the test code for centrifugal pumps of the Hydraulic Institute Standard. Conduct
tests using water as the test liquid and correct all test data to standard sea
level atmospheric conditions of 29.92 inches of mercury and to the specific
weight of water (62.3 pounds per cubic foot) at a temperature of 68
4.5.2.1  Pump and pump-shaft seal hydrostatic pressure.  With the pumpshaft
seal installed, subject the pump and pump-shaft seal to an internalhydrostatic
pressure of not less than 1.5 tires the shutoff head of the pump for not less
than 3 minutes.  Leakage or permanent defamation of the pump or pump-shaft seal
or nonconformance to 3.7.1 shall constitute failure of this test.
