REQUIREMENTS FOR PORTABLE RC FUZE CHARGER - SETTER
To charge the XM433E1 or M439 Fuze for accurate time delays
to firing corresponding to Canopy Height or Airburst Range to
Target settings. It is to be used to charge and set one fuze
at a time through an umbilical or 6 foot long coaxial cable in
laboratory function acceptance tests (centrifuge) or in field
Ballistic Acceptance Tests where the fuze is charged just prior
to ignition and firing of the rocket motor round from a single,
four (4) or nineteen (19) tube ground launcher with adapter for
1. The setter must sequentially apply precise and accurate
current charges and voltages levels to the two capacitors,
2. The setter must compensate for capacitors' tolerances and
variations within the fuze at time of charging.
3. The setter must through as many circuits as needed - e.g.
sample, track, memory, summing and comparator circuits - measure
the voltages on the fuze capacitors and control the final voltage
to make fuze function conform to the fuze equations
