Functional test.  Each bomb rack mounted in a horizontal
4.6.2
position, shall complete the following tests.
WARNING
The bomb rack shall not be fired
without a reactive store load im-
posed on its ejector foot.
a.
The rack shall be cocked mechanically and the safety
pin installed.  The latch sear line shall be visu-
ally inspected to determine that each hook is secure-
ly latched.  Failure of a sear to properly contact
and lock the hook shall constitute a critical defect.
Apply 28 Newton-meters  (250 inch-pounds) maximum
torque to the manual release.  The release mechanism
shall not actuate.

Remove the safety pin and actuate the manual release

Suspend a 113 kilogram (250 pound) store from the

Tighten forward starboard pad 1/4 turn.

Tighten aft starboard pad 1/4 turn.

Repeat tightening in order of steps 2 through 5

to attain 3/8 turn total on each swaybrace.
Repeat b.  The store shall release with a maximum of
