Heavy duty waterproof system providing protection from
environment, physical damage, shock and vibration; 12-volt
system potential with negative ground per SAE J538.
Tail and Stop Lamp.
VMRS 34-002
Furnish total of 4 ea. on rear of semitrailer providing functions of
2-ea. outboard turn and clearance plus 2-ea. inboard stop and
tail.
Lamps per TTMA RP No. 14 and SAE J759, coding SAE-IST,
all of the flush-mounted type either elastomer ring with
hermetrically sealed unit or elastomer housing with shock mount
bulb socket, a snap-on or screw-on lens, and elastomer gasket.
Round, 4-in. dia. size lamp installed flush in the TTMA standard
4.5-in. hole.
Double filament configuration having 3-wire pigtail including a
ground wire to the semitrailer framing member.
Install lamps in rear frame in sub-frame cross member, or within
body mounted boxes. Provide all lamps recessed forward from
the body dump edge to aford lamp protection from backing into
stockpiles and into loading docks.
Relfectors Safety.
VMRS 34-002-007
Furnish reflectors per TMC-ATA RP-702 and TTMA RP No. 9
plus 2-ea. additional on the front facing forward. Secure all
reflectors to the vehicle with metal fasteners.
No reflectors installed on the tailgate because of shock breakage.
Lamps Marker.
VMRS 34-004-021
All running lamps (clearance not in combination lamps,
identification, and side marker) per SAE J592 and TMC-ATA
RP-108, either flush mount type per RP-108/1 or in-line
protective lens type per RP-108/3. All lamps equipped with
polycarbonate plastic lenses and either hermetrically sealed
shock resistant filaments or fleet service bulbs per TMC-ATA
Advisory AY 1-2 having the trade number cited therein.
All running lamps, clearance, identification, and side marker of
same interchangeable make and model. Locations per
TMC-ATA RP-702 and TTMA RP No. 9.
